Reducing length of hospital stay with COVID-19 Virtual Ward
One of the major benefits of using a virtual ward is expediting the rapid discharge of patients to help free up beds. At a time when hospital occupancy rates are climbing and with the usual winter pressures still to come, enabling earlier discharges without compromising patient safety is crucial to the ongoing recovery.Â
Our early evaluation study of 65 patients found that the COVID-19 Virtual Ward delivered a significant 40.3% reduction in the average length of hospital stay for COVID-positive patients, from 5.5 to 3.3 days.
Trusted by the NHS
Our COVID-19 Virtual Ward has been deployed effectively by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust and University of Hospitals Leicester Trust to help support caseloads, manage admissions and prepare for winter pressures.

Best COVID-19 Remote Monitoring Solution
We’re proud to announce that CliniTouch Vie was named the ‘Best COVID-19 Remote Monitoring Solution’ at the 2021 Health Tech Digital Awards.Â

How our COVID-19 Virtual Ward works
Our virtual ward is designed to enable you to safely manage and monitor patients with COVID-19 at home, supporting earlier discharge back into the community and helping to ease the burden on acute teams.Â
Patients can access CliniTouch Vie using any smart device, completing daily question sets, soft signs and vital sign readings to monitor their health. Data is sent automatically and in real-time to their clinical team to review, highlighting signs of deterioration and allowing for more focused intervention.Â
We’re able to rapidly deploy our technology, so can have you up and running in as little as one week. Our deployment timeline includes everything from configuration through to set up, training and delivery of equipment – ensuring you have support every step of the way.

Vital signs
Patients record vital sign readings for key symptoms associated with COVID-19, including pulse rate, oxygen levels and temperature.

Question sets
Patients answer our bespoke COVID-19 question set, designed to gather qualitative data about a patient’s health, for example: ‘Are you breathing harder/faster than usual when you are resting?’

Clinical Dashboard
Data is sent in real-time to clinical teams, and our algorithms automatically generate a prioritised list of actions, coded as red, amber or green.Â
