COVID-19 Virtual Ward
Connecting patients with primary and community care teams who have COVID-19 symptoms, are high risk or are post-discharge.
CliniTouch Vie and COVID-19
CliniTouch Vie is a proven solution which combines remote monitoring, patient education and patient self-management. This is enabling ICSs, CCGs, STPs and clinical teams across the UK to deliver virtual wards to provide continuity of care for symptomatic COVID-19 patients.
CliniTouch Vie can be deployed rapidly and at scale and enables clinical teams to remotely monitor patients with ongoing symptoms and those post-discharge. This allows patients to fully recover in the comfort and safety of their own home – while clinicians look out for early warning signs of potential deterioration, allowing intervention when necessary to prevent (re)admission.
We use the most current information available and are continuously refining our question sets as more clinical information about COVID-19 becomes available.
Our solution is ready to deploy now in the battle against COVID-19.
Vital Signs
Remotely monitor vital signs with Bluetooth devices, and general health with individual question sets.
Patient Education
Give patients a better understanding of their condition.
Mental Wellbeing
Reassure and reduce anxiety in patients with integrated messaging, video calls and health trend information.
Using a computer, tablet or smartphone, CliniTouch Vie allows patients at home to regularly complete specific COVID-19 question sets and take vital signs readings, including oxygen saturation levels. Clinical calculations automatically generate a Red/Amber/Green risk rating which is presented in real-time to that patient’s clinician via a dashboard with prioritised actions, allowing for immediate intervention should a patient indicate signs of deterioration, to prevent (re)admission.
Monitor
Clinical teams track vital signs and know when their patients’ health changes or feel unwell.
Patients have daily health monitoring goals:
- Recording accurate clinical measurements such as temperature, heart rate, oxygen levels, blood pressure and weight using Bluetooth devices.
- Answering clinically validated questions to track symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain, tiredness and fluid retention.
Clinical teams view patient lists that are prioritised with red/amber/green status, making it easy to triage and see the right patients at the right time.

Intervene
Intelligent algorithms generate prioritised alerts. Nursing teams can target their effort to those patients who most need their care – and be reassured that their remaining caseload is safe and well. Earlier intervention means improved clinical outcomes and cost savings as well as enabling clinical teams to manage caseloads beyond bed capacity.
Interact
Messaging and video consultations let clinicians stay in contact with their patients without the need for face-to-face contact.
Messaging is quick and easy. Clinicians can ask questions, respond to non-urgent patient questions, and reassure patients about their health.
Clinicians can signpost patients to appropriate educational material relating to COVID-19 to encourage better self-management. The bite-sized content is easy to read and clinical teams can see when a patient has read each page.
